A recent study by the Canadian Press has shown that Trudeau’s Montreal-area riding of Papimoneyneau could receive the most under the proposed Liberal Canada Child Benefit program.

At $ 57,665, the Papineau riding has the lowest median income for two-parent families in Canada.

The generous $22 billion plan will eliminate the child tax credit and would provide a yearly tax-free benefit of up to $ 6,400 for each child aged five and under and up to
$5,400 for each child from age six to 17. However, you have to be in a certain family income bracket to receive the full benefit.

The present Universal Child Care Benefit Plan is a taxable benefit of $1,920 for each child aged five and $920 for each child from age six to 17 regardless of the family income bracket of the guardian(s).
