The Public Service Entrance Exam is divided into two categories: Unsupervised and Supervised. Under the “Unsupervised” category, there are three options that departments can use. All of the exams can be written in any physical environment, given the test taker has access to a computer and an internet connection. The main unsupervised exam: Unsupervised Internet Test 370 assess job seekers reasoning skills and judgement for a position in the Government of Canada. The other two exams: Unsupervised Internet Test 372 (Test of Reasoning) and Unsupervised Internet Test 374 (Test of Judgement) assess one skill, but may alternatively be administered to job seekers before further testing is requested.

Under the “Supervised” category, there are three options that departments can use. All of the exams can be written in a governmental office or by using the Public Service Commission’s online testing facility at a specific time and location. The main unsupervised exam: Supervised Internet Test 371 assess job seekers reasoning skills and judgement for a position in the Government of Canada. The other two exams: Supervised Internet Test 373 (Test of Reasoning) and Supervised Internet Test 375 (Test of Judgement) assess one skill, but may alternatively be administered to job seekers before further testing is requested. Note: Only scores from the Supervised Internet tests may be transferable.
